Description

Photograph of a discharge tube of the type introduced by Sir William Crookes and one of the earliest types of x-ray tube, c.1896, originally part of the Tabor Collection. They were purchased at auction by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum in 1928 and accessioned in 1956 (accession number R135/1956 (discharge tube) and R136/1956 (x-ray tube)). They are not held by Wellcome Collection.
