Description

Photograph of two sets of divining bones used by a traditional healer. One set is from South Africa (recorded as Cape Colony in the accession register) and was purchased at auction by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum in 1934 and accessioned in 1936 (accession number R4863/1936). The other is from south of the Zambezi river and was purchased at auction by the Museum in 1934 and accessioned in 1936 (accession number R6045/1936)
