Description

Photograph of a painting by Jan. Rienksz Jelgerhuis depicting D'Ailly in his laboratory, c. 1800. The original painting is held by the Rijkesmuseum, Amsterdam. This reproduction was made from 'Berolzheimer series of alchemical and historical reproductions' in Industrial & Engineering Chemistry, No.48, 1934. Another photograph of this image was accessioned by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum (PHO 2193).
