Description

Photograph of five 19th century monaural stethoscopes. From right to left, the second is Italian, the third is possibly Italian and the fifth is possibly French. They were acquired by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum and accessioned in 1923 and 1936, accession numbers (right to left): R2286/1936, R2310/1936, R2416/1936, R2309/1936 and R14820. They are now held by the Science Museum (object numbers A625008, A625004, A135434, A625009 and A608222).
