Description

Photograph of an amulet known as Abu Abyad worn by children as a protection aginst the evil eye. Originally from Kordofan, Sudan. It was acquired by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum at an unknown point and accessioned in 1936 (accession number R14651/1936). It is mentioned in the Third report of the Wellcome Research Laboratories at the Gordon Memorial College, Khartoum, 1908.
