Description
Black and white reproduction of a letter from José Celestino Mútis (1732-1808) to Carl Linnaeus (1707–1778) dated 6th June 1773. The letter was possibly reproduced as part of the facsimiles exhibited in Malaria section of the international celebration and exhibition : three hundredth anniversary of the first recognized use of cinchona by Europeans, 1630-1930 hosted by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum in 1930. The facsimile is listed as exhibit no. 874 (d) in the souvenir catalogue. The original letter is held by The Linnean Society of London.
