About this work

Description

A note stating 'This is the first money Mr Wellcome ever earned; it was for a day's labour in raking hay in Maine. It was paid to him by his Uncle, William Patten' which originally accompanied two coins; also three business cards and 'Reward of Merit' label. The coins and documents were originally catalogued together, but the coins are now catalogued as WA/HSW/OB/B.1a for storage and preservation reasons
