This is a larger volume than RET 3/4/2/1 and there are more columns. They initially have the headings of: meat, flour and oatmeal, rice, malt and hops, fish, poultry, butter and eggs, cheese, tea and coffee, sugar and treacle, soap, candles and oil, spices and other groceries, porter, wine and spirits, potatoes and fruit (later fruit and vegetables), coals and turfs, straw, wages, sundries. Later on, some of columns alter slightly - eg one is added for milk, and the weight of meat is also later given. Entries are weekly, with a grand total at the end of the financial year; each new year begins with a total of stock on hand. From 1 April 1852, quarterly totals are also given Volume marked 'Cash Book 1823-83' on spine
