Painting of the exteriors of Netherne Hospital wards with staff and patients in the foreground, their faces obscured. Some people on the left are shown from behind, while others on the right, seen from the front, have blank faces. Inscribed by the creator on the front "Netherne". Signed by the creator in pencil on the reverse. Creator's name and date of creation are inscribed on the reverse, probably by Edward Adamson.
