About this work

Description

Consists of:

  • MS.7157/1: Character of J[ohn] B[ishop] King (b.1831), aged 17, taken by "Mrs Hamilton, Phrenologist", endorsed by King on accompanying envelope as "wonderfully correct". Dated 1848 (envelope 1850).
  • MS.7157/2: Character of Mrs Faber Brown of Penang, taken from handwriting by G.W. King (apparently J.B. King's brother). G.W. King does not appear to have lived in Penang; the sample of her handwriting had presumably been sent to the United Kingdom for him to analyse. Dated 1857.
