f.1r.4: امّا بعد فيقول الفقيرُ الممنون الى اللهِ الغنىِ المنانِ ، اَبُو مُحَمّدٍ عُمَرُ بنِ عُثْمَان لمّا توقف تعلُّم الفرايضِ على الوجه اللّايِقِ والّصواب ، علَى معْرِفَةِ بَعْضِ مَسائِلِ عِلْمِ الْحِسَابِ وكان موضوعه العددَ جمعت كلماتٍ مشتملة على تعريفه وبعض احواله تسهيلاً للمتعلم المبتدى وجواباً لسواله ، فسميتُها تحفةَ الخايضِ فى علم الفرايضِ
