Description
Picture showing Rene-Theophile-Hyacinthe Laennec (1781-1826) French physician and musician using a stethoscope on a patient whilst observed by other medical practitioners. After a fresco by Theobald Chartran in the Sorbonne commemorating the invention of the stethoscope. The picture was acquired by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum at an unknown point and accessioned in 1940 (accession number P2482/1940)
