Photograph of a letter to Joseph Lister from the University of Glasgow dated 25 January 1908 asking his permission to put his name before the Council as Chancellor of the University. It is one of a number of photographs accumulated by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum as part of its exhibition held in 1927 to celebrate the centenary of Lister, in conjunction with The Royal Society, The British Universities Hospitals and Medical and Surgical Colleges.
