Description

Wooden statue of St Rocco (also known as St Roch) in the guise of a pilgrim pointing at a bubonic sore on his leg. The item was purchased by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum in 1934 and accessioned in 1937 (accession number R4756/1937).

Wooden statue of Saint Raymund Nonnatus (1204-1240), patron saint of children and midwives. Invoked by pregnant women and against puerperal fever. The item was purchased at auction by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum in 1928 and accessioned in 1938 (accession number R167/1938).

Wooden statue of a saint, possibly St John of Capistrano who is usually represented with cross on the breast and pointing to a crucifix which he holds, although it could be St Thomas Aquinas. The item was purchased by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum in 1935 and accessioned in 1937 (accession number R4796/1937).
