    , Specification. A.D. 1864.—N° 408. . . Newmane s New Medicinal Compound Pill for Diseases of the Liver. Having thus given a description of my Invention, and the proportions I recommend, I wish it understood that I do not purpose confining myself to the exact quantities here given, as the same may be beneficially changed or varied in some cases, but I believe the proportions given will be found 5 generally suitable, and a most valuable remedy for all diseases of the liver, and all disorders arising from a morbid secretion of the bile, whether the secretion be superabundant or defective, ameliorating the character of the bile and giving a healthy action to the liver, hence their great efficacy in bilious attacks. 10 In witness whereof, I, the said Henri Newmane, have hereunto set my hand and seal, this Fifteenth day of August, in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and sixty-four.
