Description

Painting of a bisected human figure, one side female and the other side male in brown and red. Creator's name, interpretation and the date of creation are inscribed on the reverse, probably by Edward Adamson. Attached is the following note: "Feb 68. Self-portrait by female schizophrenic patient who felt 'split' between male and female.", typed on reverse of letter-heading of Dr Robert W. Shields, BA, BD, FBPsS.
