Watercolour, 1789, of a section of the interior of a dentist's shop near Berwick Street, Soho, London. The dentist's shop is similar in appearance to an apothecary's shop of the time, containing many of the same elements: skull, pestle and mortar, apothecary jars, peculiar specimens, stuffed animals and skeletons of strange creatures.
