Description
The following description was provided by James Gardiner: "A portrait by Dorothy Wilding of the British actor John Gielgud. (1904-2000). Amongst the greatest actors of his generation, Gielgud was outed in 1953 when arrested under the Sexual Offences Act. It seemed not to affect his career adversely, and he continued working well into old age"
