Edwards, Elwyn (1932-1993)

This small collection consists of Dr. Elwyn Edward's undergraduate notebooks, exercise books, experiments at Liverpool University 1955-1957 and The Fisher Statistical Slide Rule (Gerald H. Fisher Lecturer in Psychology Newcastle-upon-Tyne University).

File consists of three green and two black notebooks relating to undergraduate study in University of Liverpool.

The notebooks are as follows:

Green notebook, entitled "Experimental Psychology" courses B & F, Book 1, experiments, 1-10, Evelyn Edwards 1955-1956 contains handwritten experiments, graphs and read-outs.

Green notebook, entitled "Experimental Psychology" courses B & F, Book 2, experiments, 11-23, Elwyn Edwards 1955-1956 contains handwritten experiments and graphs.

Green notebook, entitled "Psychology, Practical Exercises" Course A, Elwyn Edwards, contains handwritten practical exercises, figures and test scores, some are printed.

Black leather notebook with a printed label to the front entitled "Psychology of Syllogistic Reasoning" Elwyn Edwards, contains typed text by the Department of Psychology, University of Liverpool concerning an experimental enquiry entitled "Psychology of Syllogistic Reasoning" there are a few graphs included inside.

Black leather notebook with a handwritten label to the front entitled "University of Liverpool, Department of Psychology, Part II, Practical Work" Elwyn Edwards, 1957, contains typed text, drawings and graphs referring to experiments and analysis.

File also contains:

The Fisher Statistical Slide Rule (Gerald H. Fisher Lecturer in Psychology Newcastle-upon-Tyne University). Slide rule is enclosed in a leather type wallet with accompanying material.

Edwards, Elwyn (1932-1993), ergonomist, aviation psychologist.

Husband and wife Elwyn and Mary Edwards, Directors of Human Technology, Alderminster, Stratford-upon-Avon, England, both published extensively in a wide range of Human Factors-related fields. Dr Mary Edwards has concentrated on organizational psychology and its relation to the new Human Factors technologies. Dr Elwyn Edwards directed the "Human Factors in Transport Aircraft Operation" course at Loughborough and Aston Universities in the United Kingdom.
