Description
Photograph of two statues of saints: a statue of St John of God (1495-1550) patron saint of those who care for the sick and a statue of St Blanche (5th century) with her three children who were also saints. The statue of St John was purchased in Spain by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum in 1928 and accessioned in 1937 (accession number R4842/1937). It is now held by the Science Museum (object number A61810). The statue of St Blanche was purchased in France by the Museum in 1928 and accessioned in 1938 (accession number R435/1938). It is not held by Wellcome Collection.
