About this work

Also known as

Previous title, replaced November 2022 Harry Vernon (?) Capell in drag as "Irene ?". Photographic postcard, ca. 1918.

Description

He wears a black and white low-cut dress and a large headdress trimmed with fur, circa 1918. The pose and costume are similar to those of World War I concert party drag. The question mark following Irene printed on the postcard suggests they perform with an androgynous gender expression.
