Description
Photograph of four monaural stethoscopes, 19th century. From left to right, the first was designed by Fergusson and the last by Williams They were acquired by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum and accessioned in 1936 and 1955, accession numbers (left to right): R2287/1936, R2415/1936, R2273/1936 and R87/1955. Three are now held by the Science Museum (object numbers A625019, A135432, A608211). None are held by Wellcome Collection.
