Description

Photograph of a framed oil painting depicting a woman laying eggs from which small children are hatching out with another woman stirring a pot in the foreground. A caption attached to the frame titles the work 'Grotesque' and attributes the work to the Spanish School, c.1650, likely for display in the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum. The painting was accessioned by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum on 31st October 1940 (P2512/1940).
