About this work

Description

Includes research into existing databases; identification and solution of issues involved; funding; AIM Commission; softwares; workshop feedback; project application document; and final correspondence refusing funding for the project.
The later part of the file shows that the project had evolved by 1989 into a video illustrated classification of epileptic seizures and evolved again by 1990 into a database multilingual dictionary of epileptology terminology. It was hoped that funding for the project would come from the European Commission's AIM fund (Application of Informatics in Medicine) and this fund required projects to have a digital component. By 1991 the correspondence shows that a database classification of epileptic seizures was the primary aim, with the computerised database element of patients supporting the first aim.
