![¥ 4 B.—ScuepuLe or ConpDITIONS QUALIFYING FOR PRIORITY CLAIMS ON THE SUPPLY OF SHELL EGGS. Priority claims on the supply of shell eggs will be allowed to the following categories of persons at the rate of three eggs per week so far as supplies permit This allowance will not necessarily be distributed each week. Conditions qualifying for priority claims on eggs. EGGS.—Class I.—Persons suffering from gastric, duodenal or anastomotic ulcer or persons who have undergone operation on the stomach, duodenum or small intestine. Class II.—Persons suffering from any disease or injury to the mouth, throat or gullet, or organic nervous disorder, causing interference with swallowing and cases with gastrostomy. Class II]I.—Cases of typhoid fever or paratyphoid fever. (Certificates must be signed by a Medical Officer of Health). Class IV.—Cases of amoebic or bacillary dysentery. (Certificate must be signed by a Medical Officer of Health.) N.B.—The above illnesses and conditions are the only conditions for which special supplies of eggs may be authorised by a medical practitioner. Method of Certsfication. The diagnosis of the patient’s illness should not be entered on the medical certificate. The illness should be designated by the Class Number given in the above schedule. Example :—duodenal ulcer would be designated as “ the condition Class I.” Maximum Pertod of Validity for Medical Certificates. An authority to obtain eggs against a medical certificate will be valid for the undermentioned periods :— EGGS.—Class I and Class II.—For an initial period of three months, renewable for further periods of three months on presentation of further medical certificates. Class III and Class [V.—For an initial period of one month, renewable for further periods of one month on presentation of further medical certificates. o (C..— SCHEDULE OF CONDITIONS QUALIFYING FOR ADDITIONAL RATIONS OF SoapP. (N.B.—Infants under the age of one year are eligible to receive one additional ration of soap per week. No medical certificate is requized.) SOAP.—Class I.—Conditions in which TWO extra soap rations weekly will be allowed. 2 Faecal or urinary incontinence (excluding children with functional nocturnal incontinence.) Class I1.—Conditions in which ONE extra soap ration weekly will be allowed. (a) Colostomy or cystostomy. Discharging of growths. Discharging of fistulae or sinuses, or ulcers.
