Newton Abbot Rural District Council. ANNUAL REPORT OF THE Medical Officer of Health 1937. STATISTICS AND SOCIAL CONDITIONS OF THE AREA. AREA ANQ POPULATION. The district is composed of 26 parishes of varying- size, with a total acreage of 92,650. The numerical estimate of the resident population is (Mid-1937), 21,490, a decrease of 110. The number of inhabited houses (end 1937) was 6,688, an increase of 55 on the previous year. This gives an average of 3.2 persons per house. The Rateable Value (Mid- Year) was £118,306, and the estimated product of a penny rate £478.
