Description
Reproduction of a photograph of a woman casting bamboo lots - sticks which are numbered to correspond with paper slips - held by the presiding monk and informing her as to whether her prayers are answered. Published in the Illustrated London News, 9th October 1937. A copy of the newspaper cutting was acquired by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum and accessioned in 1937 (accession number PHO 10518).
