Further Experiments on the effect of Diet and Exercise on the Elimination of Nitrogen.^' By E. A. Parkes, M.D., F.R.S. Received January 28, 1871. In the Proceedings of the Royal Society (No. 89, 1867, and No. 94, 1867) some experiments were published on the ehmination of nitrogen, during exercise and rest, on a nitrogenous and a non-nitrogenous diet. The result of both series was so far to confirm the experiments which show that the changes in the nitrogen of the urine and fseces are small in extent and afford no measure of the work; but there did appear to be a slight effect produced in two ways :— VOL.
