Description

Photograph of three wooden effigies, one zoomorphic, one anthropomorphic and one shaped like a dragon. The effigies were purchased at auction by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum in 1909 (zoomorphic and anthropomorphic effigies) and 1926 (dragon effigy) and accessioned in 1936 (accession numbers R7658/1936, R7659/1936 and R7660/1936). They were exhibitied in the museum's "Hall of Primitive Medicine". The items are not held by Wellcome Collection.
