Comprises papers of John Frost (1803-1840) relating either to botanical interests or the Medico-Botanical Society, including:

  • MS.7691/1: autograph letter, signed, by Frost, to William Hoddiges, thanking him for a botanical specimen and sending him some seeds received from Calcutta, 1823.
  • MS.7691/2: autograph letter, signed, by Frost, to the antiquary the Rev. Stephen Weston F.R.S., mentioning brown broth and Baron Alexander von Humboldt (1769-1859), and sending a copy (no longer present) of an address to the Medico-Botanical Society by its President Philip Henry Stanhope, 4th Earl Stanhope (1781-1855), 1829.
  • MS.7691/3-4: papers concerning a Medico-Botanical Society member: autograph extract from Society's Council minutes, signed by Frost, recording the election of César Moreau F.R.S. as a corresponding member (no. 3) and printed form with autograph insertions and signature by Richard Morris, Society Secretary, electing Moreau as a Fellow (no. 4), 1826-1827.
