Gross Library, 47 volumes .... $269 75 113 00 91 38 105 55 172 35 One thousand two hundred and fifty-five volumes have been bound—217 more than last year. The number of visitors to the Library is 6467—an increase of 217. Number of books taken out, 4885—1372 more than in the preceding year; 18,624 books were supplied by the Librarian for consultations in the Library—an increase of 1528 over last year, and a large number were taken directly from the shelves by Fellows of the College. The cataloguing work is progressing satisfactorily. All new books and more important pamphlets have been catalogued and the cataloguing of the Hough collection and of the Norris Library has been completed. 21,739 cards have been revised—2175 more than during the last year. All the money collected for the purpose of revision has been expended and additional subscriptions are in order. As usual the Library has been thoroughly cleaned during the summer and all the books have been examined and compared with the list. Here- tofore we have been able to report that not a book has been missing, but this year three cannot be found. As they are not books that would be likely to be stolen, it is hoped that they have been mislaid in the crowding and shifting and may turn up safely at some future time. Great credit is due to the employes of the Library for maintaining so well the order and accessibility of the books and the usefulness of the Library in spite of its overcrowded condition.
