  • MS.1723/6: Power, Sir William Henry (1842-1916), 1888. Notes of cases of vaccination. Produced in London. The author had a distinguished career in the Public Health Service. Joining the Local Government Board as Assistant Inspector in 1871, he became Principal Medical Officer in 1889, resigning in 1908. He was elected F.R.S. in 1895 and knighted in 1908. [Cf. B.M.J. 1916, ii, pp. 303-307].
  • MS.1723/7: Stark, Johann Christian (1753-1811), c. 1810. Kur der Fiebers. An epitome by an unknown writer of the section on fevers in Stark's 'Handbuch zur Kenntniss und Heilung innerer Krankheiten des menschlichen Körpers' published in 2 vols. at Jena. 1799-1800. The author obtained his M.D. at Jena in 1777, and in 1784 was professor of obstetrics. He was personal physician to the poet Schiller.
