Photograph of the first page of a letter dated 25 March 1887 announcing Lister's election as Honorary Member of the Imperial Soceity of Medicine in the Caucasus. It is one of a number of photographs accumulated by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum as part of its exhibition held in 1927 to celebrate the centenary of Lister, in conjunction with The Royal Society, The British Universities Hospitals and Medical and Surgical Colleges.
