Description

Wooden statue of St Barnabas, one of the twelve apostles of Jesus invoked against hail, . The item was acquired by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum at an unknown point and given accession number A156204. It is not held by Wellcome Collection.

Pottery statue of the Virgin Mary holding the baby Jesus. She is given the title Our Lady of the Scapular in her role as patroness of the Carmelite Order of nuns. The item was part of a Spanish pharmacy in Torrijos, Spain. It was purchased by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum in 1930 and accessioned in 1937 (accession number R4834/1937). It is not held by Wellcome Collection.

Wooden statue of St Simon the Zealot, one of the twelve apostles of Jesus and the patron saint of sawyers, masons and tanners. The statue was purchased by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum and accessioned in 1938 (accession number R170/1938). It is not held by Wellcome Collection.Patron of sawyers, masons, tanners.
