Duchenne muscular dystrophy pedigree and restriction fragment length polymorphism (rflp) autoradiograph showing molecular deletion (exon missing). The bands on the autoradiograph represent fragments of DNA from the X chromosome which have been cut by enzymes at specific base sequences. This condition is caused by deletion of an exon from the X chromosome.
