Photograph of a telegram from Joseph Lister to the Roll of Burgers of Glasgow regretting Lister's absence on the occaision when his name was inscribed on the Roll. It is one of a number of photographs accumulated by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum as part of its exhibition held in 1927 to celebrate the centenary of Lister, in conjunction with The Royal Society, The British Universities Hospitals and Medical and Surgical Colleges.
