Minute Book: Board of Directors

There is an index at the front of the first of these volumes.

These volumes contain minutes of meetings of the board, and minutes and some papers for Annual General Meetings of Shareholders. Meetings of the board generally took place monthly, occasionally at shorter intervals and sometimes with longer breaks, particularly at the end of the second volume.

Matters discussed include the appointment of directors and staff, market conditions and the performance of the company, specific products - and their success or failure, as well as general administrative points. There is little information of an especially sensitive nature, although some mention is made of staff salary levels and remuneration received by directors.

On p. 5 a note appears of a donation for 'Food Parcels for Britain'.

A statement about the sale of the company's head office, in Sydney, and the transfer of staff to Cabarita, appears on p. 80.

A donation to the Liberal Party is recorded on p. 107, along with a donation to the Country Party.

A review of the operation of the company, by T A Robertson, was launched at the meeting of 29 Sep 1954 (p. 121).
