Photograph of a cold, opaque stone threaded onto strands of horse hair which would be worn around the wrist to protect against horse-sickness. Originally from Kordofan, Sudan and presented to the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum by Captain Gayer Anderson, R.A.M.C. It was accessioned in 1936 (accession number R6936/1936)
