Comprises of original illustrations of tropical diseases, many endorsed as contributions to the Journal of Tropical Medicine:

  • MS.6938/1-57: photographs demonstrating the effects of tropical diseases in man and animals including a series by Frank Cole Madden (1873-1929) F.R.C.S., on penile bilharziasis, dated late 19th century-early 20th century.
  • MS.6938/58-68: portraits and group photographs, some of Cantlie, with Hong Kong street scenes, most importantly the Shropshire Light Infantry cleaning plague houses, dated late 19th century-early 20th century.
  • MS.6938/69-100: other illustrative material, drawings for Journal of Tropical Medicine papers, and some artists' proofs, dated 1894-1907 and some undated material.
