Notes

The following description was provided by James Gardiner: "Conditions at Krefeld were apparently not too tough for allied POWs if this picture is a guide. Camp entertainment was indeed just that: this very young-looking British serviceman 'Gloria', wears an attractive draped silk velvet robe trimmed with what looks like Brussels lace, a matching toque with ostrich aigrette and lots of make-up. A program for 'You never can tell' is shown on a table: this may be the play by G. Bernard Shaw (1897) or another work reusing the title."
This work is untitled: the title has been supplied by the cataloguer.
