Previous title, replaced January 2022: Mask of beaten iron - used in Nuremberg, 1625 (?).

Photographs of an iron mask from the front and side supposedly worn by women when dragged through streets by executioners in Nuremberg c. 1635. This item was accessioned by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum but is not held by Wellcome Collection (R21036).
