Description
Reproduction of a photograph of a man from the Hopi tribe who primarily live in northeastern Arizona. The man is performing a ritual to protect the corn crop from drought, pests and scorching winds. The reproduction is published in Crane, Leo: Indians of the enchanted desert, Boston, 1925. A photograph of the book plate was acquired by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum and accessioned in 1938 (accession number PHO 10942)
