Description

Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) x-ray diffraction negatives and photographs, including DNA extracted from calf thymus, cuttlefish sperm, mice, humans, herring and from white blood cells. Some original negative envelopes and some prints are captioned, and some negatives are fragile. Also brief notes on images photographed, 20 Mar [1952], with note in Wilkins’ hand relating to the date Herbert Wilson joined the Medical Research Council Biophysics Unit, King’s College London, Sep 1952. Also later note, 3 Jul 1980, relating to the borrowing of two images by Watson Fuller (lecturer in Biophysics, King’s College London, 1963-1967 and subsequently Professor of Physics, 1973-2002).
