Right-hand side of the plate: Photograph of a silver pomander with ear scoop and toothpick toilet instruments attached by chain, 17th century. This item was accessioned by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum (R15540). Left-hand side of the plate: Photograph of a Fibula serpentiform, probably Italian, 800 - 600 BC. This item was accessioned by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum (R4663/1937).
