Description

Photograph of two amuletic and remedical rings. One is set with turquois and would be placed looked at in the morning to bring good luck. It could also be placed in in hot water, which would be drunk to relieve urinary retention. Also looked at in the morning to bring good luck. The other ring comprises a green stone set in silver. Both items were originally from Kordofan, Sudan and were presented to the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum by Captain R. G. Anderson and accessioned in 1940 (accession numbers R2600/1940 and R2601/1940).
