About this work
Description
Case notes and medical receipts written by Nicholas Gaynsford, apparently apprenticed to Dr. George Willett (d. 1729), resident at Groombridge on the border of East Sussex and Kent. The case notes, or 'observations', follow Willett's treatment of patients in Sussex and Kent, often noting other medical practitioners in that area. One Dr. Fuller [Thomas Fuller (1654-1734) M.D., of Sevenoaks?] is recorded as attending Willett's wife. The receipts are noted as being 'Examind & Aprovd.' [f. 36]. Contents of book are dated 18 January 1711/12-18 November 1713.
