Photograph of a 17th century model of a man made out of orthopaedic apparatus, similar to that illustrated by Fabricius ab Aquapendente. Its purpose was to demonstrate the priniciples of construction of apparatus for the correction of dislocations by leverage. It was previously part of the Wellcome HIstorical Medical Museum but is not held by Wellcome Collection. Related images: M0019961
