Photograph from 6 February 1937 of a healing ceremony being undertaken by an Emberán traditional healer on a boy lying underneath a shelter bearing magical symbols. In the foreground is a fetish with outstretched arms. The Emberá are an indigenous people of Panama and Columbia, previously known as the Choco or Katio Indians. The photograph was acquired by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum and accessioned in 1937 (accession number PHO 9926). Related images: M0005709EB, V0031112
