Notes
This work is untitled: the title has been supplied by the cataloguer.
The following description was provided by James Gardiner: "Liberace ( 1919-1987), in a colour postcard from a 1981 photograph by Annie Leibovitz. Despite his stage persona, in an act built on the most outrageous (tasteless; gaudy) costumes, props and jewellery, Liberace persistently denied his homosexuality, even at one point in 1958 suing the British journalist Donald Zec for suggesting it in print. Liberace won the case. However, he was finally outed by his death from AIDS-related illness in 1990, and the subsequent publication and filming of the biography of an ex-lover, Scott Thorsen".
