Description
Photograph of three Greek lekythos. The first is a 4th century BC Campanian immitation of Attic work and decorated with a bird and conventional design. It was purchased at auction by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum in 1928 and accessioned in 1936 (accession number R762/1936). The second is 5th century BC Attic and shows a winged female figure with arms outstretched moving to the right. It was acquired by the Museum at an unknown point and accessioned in 1936 (accession number R220/1946). The third is 4th century BC and decorated with the image of a hare. It was purchased at auction by the Museum in 1931 and accessioned in 1936 (accession number R1328/1936). None of the items are held by Wellcome Collection. Related images: M0016196, M00161097
